Debbie Thorpe, PT, PhD, PCS has been a physical therapist for 19 years.
Her clinical practice and research focuses on the effects of aquatic
intervention on fitness, mobility and quality of life in persons with
cerebral palsy. She is the recent past Director of Research for the
Aquatic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Rosemary Herlong, M.S., LRT/CTRS, ICATRIC has worked as an aquatic therapist since 1992, runs her own business, Waterspice, LLC, and works for Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC as their aquatic therapist. Nancy Weinburg, PT, ICATRIC graduated from Univ at Buffalo in 1972 and began her career at NYU Medical Center, Rusk Institute. She enjoyed working in the therapy pool there for two years and vowed to find another one when she moved to the Washington,DC area. After raising a son and returning to full time work, Nancy found a terrific pool and facility at Sibley Hospital. She specializes in individual treatment, mainly chronic musculo-skeletal pain and pre-and post-operative joint replacement work.

Jane Styer-Acevedo, PT is senior adjunct faculty at Arcadia University and is an active certified Pediatric Coordinator-Instructor in Neuro-Developmental Treatment. She is a master clinician with expertise in inpatient, outpatient, homecare, Early Intervention services, sheltered workshops, and the treatment of infants through adults with developmental and neurological challenges. Hands on care is provided both in the pool and "on land" in a variety of settings. Jane has authored multiple chapters and articles including Aquatic Rehabilitation in Pediatrics in Aquatic Rehabilitation edited by Ruoti RG, Morris DM, & Cole AJ and including Physical Therapy for the Child with Cerebral Palsy in Pediatric Physical Therapy 3rd Edition edited by J. Tecklin.

Zia Parker, MT has developped Agua Alma Aquatic Bodywork, a practice which opens doorways to developing personal relationship with Nature through four basic sessions. These sessions correspond with the Four Directions and the Four Elements. This structure allows the expansive states attained in the water work to circle back to reciprocity with the Earth.

"Dee" Virginia Ellis, PTA has been practicing for 11 years in many settings and places with the current trends of teaching basic clinical skills in aquatic therapy, certfication courses for kinesio taping and general practice in the outpatient setting. recognized Aquatic Integration & Watsu Teacher, currently serves as Director of AquaZen Center in Fillmore, California. She received certification as an instructor in Watsu in 1998 from the Worldwide Aquatic Bodyworkers Association (WABA) and is the founder of the Aquatic Integration Technique.

Mary Essert, BA has been involved internationally in presenting and teaching swimming, safety, water fitness, and therapeutic intervention techniques since 1949. Her experiences with breast cancer, fibromyalgia, and other chronic pain conditions have prompted her to share her expertise in aquatic exercise and rehab with others. Her seminars, workshops and videos re: older adults, rheumatic conditions, breast cancer and warm water bodywork have helped many instructors and individuals.

Her strong academic background from the University of Waterloo, in Human Kinetics, combined with her dance and coaching background provide her with strong technical and creative skills.
